The winning team at Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium receive their award from Dignity chief executive, Mike McCollum.
Crematorium Garden of the Year
This is the second year that Dignity has held its Crematorium Garden of the Year Competition and the standard once again was exceptional throughout all four areas of the business.
The area winners were:
- North - Lancaster & Morecambe
- Midlands - Birmingham
- South West - Exeter
- South East - Randall's Park
Highly commended were: Dundee, Grantham, Surrey & Sussex and Oxford.
The overall winner for the second year in a row was Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium, once again leading the way with exceptional grounds and presentation.
“This year's competition was much closer than last year as everyone upped their game to compete with Lancaster,” said regional manager, David Baxter.
This year also saw the first Cemetery of the Year award going to Randall's Park, with its beautiful parkland cemetery layout. Beckenham was highly commended in this category.
Dignity chief executive, Mike McCollum, presented the Crematorium Garden of the Year Award to the winning crematorium. In his speech praised the teamwork of all the staff at Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium as well as all the staff throughout the company.

Shirley Roberts, crematoria business development manager for memorial sales finished the London Marathon in 4 hours, 48 minutes. Shirley was running for Cancer Research UK and raised £3,600.
