The new area of Glynn Valley Crematorium provides visitors with a quiet place for remembrance and reflection.
New lake unveiled at Glynn Valley Crematorium
Staff at Glynn Valley Crematorium in Cornwall unveiled the latest addition to their gardens of remembrance at an open day in June. A new lake was officially opened with a memorial and dedication ceremony conducted by Canon Graham Minors.
It is hoped that the lake, which features a stream and a bridge, will be a place where people can come and reflect in the tranquil and peaceful surroundings.
"We've held an open day every year since the crematorium opened," explained manager, Sue Hearn. "But this year, because of the development of the grounds we wanted to make it a truly special occasion. A lot of hard work has gone into providing a peaceful haven for our visitors and the open day gives people an opportunity to ask us any questions they have about the cremation process or our facilities."
BBC Radio Cornwall broadcast their Saturday morning show from the crematorium and covered the opening ceremony for the new lake, played light music throughout the day and invited the local community to the event.
