Rotherham remembers
Staff at Rotherham Crematorium organised a Service of Remembrance on Armistice Day to pay tribute to all the local men and women from the armed services that have given their lives to protect this country and its interests.
The service was the first of its kind at the crematorium and was a very successful event. Staff from the crematorium had arranged for the veteran’s memorial to be refurbished and this was blessed by the local clergy. Wreaths were laid by a representative of the Royal British Legion and Clare Chisholm, the crematorium’s liaison officer, whose son is currently serving in Afghanistan.
The service was attended by the Mayor of Rotherham, local dignitaries and over 50 members of the local Veteran’s Association and Royal British Legion.
