Running for Cancer Research

Running for Cancer Research

Two members of the Dignity crematoria management team have managed to raise a fantastic £2,500 for Cancer Research UK by completing the Bath Half-Marathon.

Shirley Roberts and Jennifer Yardley trained throughout the winter for the event and have received many words of encouragement and cash donations from their colleagues across the business.

“The weather was cold and we were both nervous at the start,” said Shirley, “but we both finished, we’re ecstatic about how much we raised and as we’re both ‘half-marathon virgins’ we obviously set personal best times!”

“We would both like to thank everyone for their support,” added Jennifer. “It was a great day, made even better knowing that every mile we ran was raising money for cancer research.”
