Wear Valley Crematorium holds memorial service for bereaved families
Wear Valley Crematorium in Coundon held a Memorial Service on Sunday 18 July for local families and friends to remember their loved ones who have passed away.
The service was led by Canon McTeer of St Helen Auckland, Bishop Auckland and approximately 140 people attended including the Chairman of Durham County Council, Councillor Mac Williams JP and his partner, Mrs Pauline Adams with Lady Mayoress of Bishop Auckland, Lesley Zair and her husband, Sam Zair.
Crematorium manager, Kevin Tomlin, explained: "It is the first time we have organised a Memorial Service since the crematorium opened in March 2009. Families told us they found the service very comforting and afterwards they visited the gardens of remembrance."
