It is with great sadness to announce that Brian sadly passed away on Sunday 2nd July 2023
I am asking for donations to The Princess Alice Hospice in memory of Brian for two reasons – to enable the Princess Alice Hospice to provide the same fantastic care and support for others facing the same devasting situation as our family, and to recognise Brian’s incredible strength and positivity in dealing with his cancer diagnosis right from the start.
Brian endured numerous bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy with unfailing good humour and fortitude despite the debilitating side effects and recovering from sepsis at Christmas. He maintained a “life as normal” attitude, working, holidaying and of course watching Spurs while enjoying time with his family. He was given time off from his bowel cancer treatment, but sadly just three weeks before we lost him, he was diagnosed with LMD, an aggressive and untreatable spread of the cancer to his spine and brain. Despite this horrendous news, as usual he was fearless and more concerned for others than for himself.
He did not want to pass away at home, and we were so lucky that Princess Alice Hospice was able to care for him – and us – in Brian’s last few days. We are so grateful for the support they provided. The hospice depends solely on donations to continue to deliver their services – it deserves our support in return. Please give as generously as you can in memory of Brian and for others in the same situation.
His Funeral will take place on Friday 28th July 2023
Church Service at St Mary The Virgin, Cuddington at 1.00pm
Followed by Putney Vale Crematorium at 3.00pm
