It is with great sadness that we have to say that John has passed away in Royal Blackburn hospital after a short illness borne with much patience. He was a much loved husband, dad, grandad and great-grandad. A lifelong football fan, he achieved his ambition of being a semi-professional goalkeeper in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. He always followed his son and grandson who followed in his footsteps with their love of the game. John was intelligent, compassionate and would always try to help anyone with anything. John loved his garden and was still up a ladder cutting trees until most recently and tending to his strawberry and blueberry patches. He will always be in our hearts. 💕
