It is with great sadness to say that Daniel 'Dan' Parlone passed away in the evening of Tuesday August 6th 2024, quite suddenly at Colchester Hospital and after a short illness. Dan travelled the world during his 86 years and made a lot of friends and even as his Alzheimer’s progressed always responded to these memories. Beloved husband to Pip, father to Richard and Alison, father-in-law to Jane and Jamie, grandfather to Jaiden and Saranna. Rest in peace Dan, back with your parents and know we all miss you.
With his marine engineering background sailing in the Merchant Navy, on the Trinity House Lightship support ships and on the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food survey vessels, he was a strong supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Donations for the RNLI can be made via the link attached, or you can make donations directly to the Alzheimer's Society on their website (Alzheimer’s Society). If you are attending the funeral there will be a donations box at the exit of the chapel.
Please contact Richard Parlone directly regarding arrangements for the wake.
