Family flowers only please, but donations in memory of Stephen can be made to support Autism research by following the link on this page.
Our lovely husband, father, stepfather and grandpa was a passionate advocate of scientific research and the transformational power of new ideas. Stephen’s curiosity for knowledge lasted a lifetime and he was a proud alumnus of two great universities: Oxford and Cambridge.
His youngest grandchild, Florence, was diagnosed with Autism when she was 3. Stephen was a devoted grandpa who entertained, joked with, worried about, championed and above all loved his five grandchildren. The Autism Centre of Excellence at Cambridge University funds research at the university’s Autism Research Centre, which also works with partner organisations to translate research evidence into real-world support services for autistic people and their families.
Your donations in Stephen’s memory will help fund research into developing our understanding of the causes of Autism and how best we can ensure that Florence and other children like her, can live as independent and happy a life as possible.
