With great sadness we announce the death of Valerie Ursula McHale on August 17th 2023, age 91. Val passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.
Happily married for 60 years to “the love of her life” Bunny, until his untimely death in 2013, she leaves behind four children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Music was an integral part of her life; playing piano, singing in local choirs and operatic societies and being a staunch lifetime supporter of the Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her faith was also very important to her and gave her great comfort. She was an active member of the Epsom Christian Fellowship for many years.
Kind, generous, hardworking and deceptively strong willed she worked tirelessly for the local branch of the Save the Children Fund. Her coffee mornings were legendary.
Just about everybody, from the window cleaner to her GP, described her as lovely.
She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
