It is with deep sadness to announce that our beloved Mr Onkar Nath Sangarpaul passed away on 18th January 2024.@9:43pm
He was born on 5th Nov 1936 to Amir Chand and Savitra Devi Sangarpaul in SutanPur Lodhi, Punjab, India.
In his early years he moved to Dera Baba Nanak where he stayed with his Pooa (Father's sister) who was a widow with no children .
When he was 12 he returned to his family in Modinagar near Delhi to continue his studies. At school he was the captain of both Cricket and Hockey team and in later years became a big cricket fan who enjoyed watching cricket on TV especially when India where playing
His career started by working with his father. who was a sales manager for a Silk manufacturer in India. He often had to act as a representative for his father, visiting and up-holding his reputation and that of the company on his many travels around India. I believe his early work experience gave him his sense of adventure, professionalism and approachability
He led a fulfilling life filled with honesty and integrity moving to the UK in 1968 to marry his beloved wife Sushila Devi Bhutta.
He had three children, Anil, Anita and Vinay. He had 7 grandchildren who he loved dearly. Lavleen, Avinash, Arjan, Ashwin, Pareena, and the last but far for least the twins Maya/Siyana.
.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to be made to Charity of their choice
The family appreciates and welcomes condolences.(sangarpaul@hotmail.com)
The Sangarpaul family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time
