Christopher Phillip Wilding “Chris” passed away on December 30, 2023 after a very sudden decline in his health following a battle with Lung Cancer surrounded by his loving family at the family home. Chris was only 51 years of age.
Chris was born on May 1st, 1972 in Hereford to Collin & Margaret Wilding where he grew up as a child. He was youngest of child and had 1 brother Mervin, 2 sisters Colleen & Linda.
In his early adult life he moved to Cardiff where he attend UWIC to train as a chef. He later moved to the Welsh Valleys which he has called home for last 27 years and decided a change of career was needed following a deterioration in his health so trained as a computer engineer which was his passion, he’s had many jobs over the years and met many friends along the way.
Chris was a loving husband to Gemma and an amazing dad of three beautiful children Layla, Miles & Harper who will be deeply missed and always loved by them all.
Chris had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. He was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun! He was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. He loved the beach, vacations, shooting, cooking, video gaming, Star Wars, Star Trek , his dog and gardening. He was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined Chris. They were part of who he was, and his strength undoubtedly helped him deal with life’s challenges. His favourite saying was “keep calm & carry on and “I’m stronger than I look” as over years he battles some serious health conditions.
Chris is survived by his wife Gemma and their 3 beautiful children Layla (18), Miles (16) & Harper (10), his sister Colleen and her husband Steve, his brother Mervin, nieces and nephew Sabrina, Natalie, Samantha, Michael, Amy, Sofie and his dear life long friend Courtney and numerous other family & friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Philip, father Collin, his mother Margaret, and his Sister Linda her son’s Matthew & Alex, whom he held so close to his heart.
Family & friends are welcome to attend the funeral/celebration of Chris's life on Wednesday 17th January at 4:00pm - Sirhowy Valley Crematorium, Pontllanfraith, Blackwood, NP12 2YT.
The family asks that you wear green or a hint of in memory of Chris.
